The temperature dropped to zero during the night, a slight ground frost and the water in our water bottles left on the bicycle froze. We were not cold in the tent though, all wrapped up is several layers.

First thing at our lovely camping spot

First thing at our lovely camping spot
Today was a game of two halves, the first 35 km very much steepness the remainder flat (well nearly flat).
A beautiful day to be cycling
It was yet another very misty start to the day but the sun made every effort to show it’s face by the time we got on our way.
Nice early morning view
A sunny day greeted us today, “hello” it said.
Janet cycling a very peaceful section
A very different day today, still a few clouds but some blue sky and sunny spells, definitely no rain.
The day looks better already
Immediately we crossed the river (again) visiting the next certification point, once certified (we need to be!) The rest of the day was on cycle way the whole of the time we cycled.
Korea loves baseball
So many bridges
Many of the town’s plant fields of flowers to bloom in succession
Even with the drier weather it was still cool and for the first time in South Korea quite windy, but nice cycling.
After 55 km we cycled into Waegwan where our motel awaited.
When our friendly cockerel woke us this morning there was a pitter patter of rain on the tent. A wet start to the day, the first one in South Korea. Once packed up the first 43 km was a backtrack to where we were two days ago.
Early morning dampness
There was no sign of the sun this morning, it was well hidden behind the mist and at 7°C a bit chilly as well.
Outside our window a cockerel who cannot tell the time started up at 3.00 am waking us, only for a short few moments though until a far more respectable 7.30 am arrived.
Once on our way we crossed the river on a sort of footbridge then it was cycle track for virtually all of today.
Over the footbridge next to the motel
Today was a story of two climbs, the highest point on our route so far. It was straight out of Suanbo up the first hill, a steady 6% with occasional 8%.
Just over the top of tbe first hill
