We managed to stay awake to see in the new year, there were a few fireworks in the town but the main display was at Ao Nang Beach, too far really for us to venture. We enjoyed a quiet meal and a drink.
The alarm was set for 7:00 am so we could celebrate the New Year with family and friends back home in the UK, it seemed strange having two New Years even stranger to have one at seven in the morning.
Today we are only moving on a short distance to a hotel near to Krabi Airport, the route wandered around a little but did only use some lovely roads today with very little traffic.

Right on the very top of the hill in the middle is the statue of Buddha we climbed up to yesterday

Just before midday we had checked in to Srisuksant Urban Hotel, not the cheapest at 1,000 baht but a very large room and spotlesly clean. It is very close to shops and restaurants on the main Route 4 highway, but set back far enough so there is no road noise at all, all is peaceful.

Airport on our right, pylons on the left
This is not really a tourist area here and most of the shops and restaurants are closed, we did find a resturant open and had a great meal there, crispy pork belly with rice, pork dumplings, pork noodle soup (notice a theme here?) followed by custard dumplings all washed down with iced thai lemon tea. We even bought some biscuits to take away, a grand total of 235 baht, well worth the money.
Even though it was only 2:30 pm that was the day finished for us, only general lounging around left to be done and we find that quite easy.
