Bang Saphan, Anchalee Hotel Thursday 13th December

It is amazing what difference a pillow makes to your nights sleep, take last night huge thick pillows and a very poor nights sleep, the night before a little thinner and a good nights sleep. We must be more delicate as we age.

The natural bay our hotel overlooks

This gentleman was a roadside seller of some beautiful cockerels

Today was in complete contrast to yesterday, no main roads at all and no rain. It proved to be a lovely days cycling.

A mixture of riding through palm plantations and along sea fronts, all with very little traffic.

A lot of cycling through this

And a lot of cycling along this

The sun was out today but the wind strengthened keeping it in the low 30’s, the wind was strong enough to blow coconuts from the trees and you wouldn’t want to be hit by a falling coconut! There was some coconut scrumping going on with people picking them up and giving them a shake checking it was intact still with its water.

The hotel was a good price 630 bhat including breakfast, and the room is big, clean and comfortable.

The beaches vary so much this one is ok

Eating out on seafood was the order of the day, sadly we had our most disappointing meal of our Thailand trip a combination of poor service and not particularly well cooked food. Oh well always tomorrow.

A beautiful temple on a hilltop, Khao Thong Chai

A huge reclining Buddha we passed
